EE recognizes that all trekking adventures are not and should not be equal. This unique trek is designed for those who want to do it all themselves and who are up to the challenge of carrying all of their gear on their backs. The bad news – this hike not for those faint-of-heart or weak-of-back. The good news – if you’re physically able, then you’ll traverse terrain that even the most-hearty SUVs will never be able to navigate.

This trek starts at around 2,500 meters of elevation on Kinzhal Plateau, offering perhaps the most majestic view of Mount Elbrus available. You’ll rest at Gedmish Waterfalls, affectionately called Avatar waterfalls, before descending to the floor of the Malka Valley and slowly working your way out the other side. On day four, your trek will end at Dolina Kavkaza, an oasis perched near the Valley of Springs, that is able to renew your spirit as well as your stomach.

Before starting the trek you’ll have the chance to enjoy Balkar hospitality at its finest. Anuar and his family will make sure you have only positive impressions of the locals before you go on to think great things about the lands you walk on. In case you decide while hiking that meeting more locals would be a good thing, then be sure to speak with Aslan and his wife while enjoying their kitchen at Dolina Kavkaza.
