Due to the vast quantities of geography and peoples located in the North Caucasus mountains, it’s impossible to unearth all of this region’s treasures despite devoting a lifetime to the task. That said, if there was a way to experience a portion of the geography and peoples thoroughly in a manageable time frame – say, five days – then this Excursions to Elbrus adventure is that way!

Experiencing people, geography and the culture overlapping both has never been so condensed, yet EE’s guides will help you take in as much as possible without sensory overload. You’ll stand on Mt. Elbrus–Europe’s tallest peak– and also in the living rooms of two distinct people groups – the Kabardians and the Balkars – and enjoy local cuisine at its homemade finest. Does shashlik and khichini mean anything to you? If not now, it will soon!

As an added bonus to eating and Elbrus, you’ll explore four river valleys in the republic of Kabardino-Balkaria. Filled with historical and natural treasures, these valleys showcase ancient towers, mausoleums, and villages as well as lakes, hot springs and waterfalls. If a five-day blast works for you seeing Kabardino-Balkaria, then take our Excursions from Elbrus tour and see the republic of Karachay-Cherkessia the next time you visit.
