  1. Night 1 Evening arrival (fly into Makhachkala airport, transfer to Agri. Gulf tour base accommodations)

Moscow is the gateway city for passengers entering Russia.  Using the search engine on skyscanner.com, you can find flights from Moscow’s Vnukovo (VKO) airport to your destination – Makhachkala (MCX).  You will transfer from MCX to tour base accommodations on the Agri. Gulf.

  2. Day 1 Early lunch, boat to New Kossa Village, cultural exch.1 and dinner (tour base accommodations)

After sleeping off jet lag, you’ll eat an early lunch before boating to New Kossa. During a cultural exchange with villagers, you’ll learn the fishing history of their people and better understand local traditions passed to each new generation.  Then you’ll return to the tour base to overnight.

  3. Day 2 Full-day fishing in the Agrihanski Gulf, fish-fry dinner (tour base accommodations)

With a little regional fishing history under your belt, you’re ready to drop your lines in the water.  Try starting in the Agrihanski Gulf, where year-round you can find fish varieties perfect at testing your angling prowess. Don’t worry – you’ll still get a fish-fry dinner even if it’s not your best day.

  4. Day 3 Full-day fishing at Terek River lakes, dinner and cultural exch.2 in New Birusak Village (tour base accommodations)

The Terek River lakes offer a slightly different variety of fishing, as well as different fish varieties.  At your cultural exchange in New Birusak, you’ll be introduced to a different culture than what you experienced at New Kossa. Can you identify distinctive markers of different people groups?

  5. Day 4 Morning departure for Sulak Canyon, dinner and cultural exch.3 (Dubki Village accommodations)

Lost your land legs?  Need a break from the boat?  Sulak Canyon is the visual delight you’ve been waiting for!  Afterward, you’ll meet five different people groups in one cultural exchange, as Dubki Village is a cultural melting pot of Caucasus peoples living harmoniously with one another.

  6. Day 5 Full-day fishing at Dubki, Trout-fry dinner, transfer to Caspisk (Caspisk hotel accommodations)

Not far from Sulak Canyon is a Trout farm, so you’ll get to meet locals making their living using the region’s natural resources.  They’ve also agreed to let you eat dinner from their resources.  After pushing away from the table, you’ll transfer to the city of Caspisk on the Caspian Sea coast.

  7. Day 6 Full-day fishing on Caspian Sea, dinner overlooking the Sea (Caspisk hotel accommodations)

Dubbed the largest lake in the world, the Caspian Sea coast amazingly is more than 30 meters below sea level.  But, that won’t help you get fish in the boat.  Local boat captains and their crews help you with that.  Dinner with a scenic Caspian overlook should help you relax afterward.

  8. Day 7 Morning on beach, late check-out/lunch, evening departure (fly out of Makhachkala airport)

Spend your last morning on the beach soaking in the sun’s rays before check-out time.  You’ll see more of Makhachkala city before catching your departing flight in the evening.  If you’ve got fish on ice that you can’t part with, we’ll help you package it and ship it back to where you’re going.
